CAPE Research Fellowships
Postdoctoral fellows at Stanford Medicine conduct research in human performance and adult education in the fields of pediatrics and obstetrics at CAPE. Current research includes:
Nicole Yamada, M.D.: development of a lexicon for precise, concise communication during high-risk, time-sensitive clinical activities such as resuscitation
Janene Fuerch, M.D.: determination of optimal bedside data display (creation of the medical “glass cockpit”)
Katharine Brock, M.D. : development of a simulation-based palliative care curriculum for pediatric fellows to improve communication with patients and families facing end-of-life issues
Postdoctoral fellows in neonatal-perinatal medicine who have conducted research at CAPE have taken positions at a number of institutions around the U.S. where they continue to deliver state-of-the-art patient care and lead simulation-based training activities.
